I have over 18 years of teaching and administrative experience with a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and am the Social Studies department chair at the Lenoir County Early College High School in Kinston, NC currently teaching Civic Literacy and Economics & Personal Finance. I work with the North Carolina Council on Economic Education (NCCEE) Economics and Personal Finance (EPF) master teacher program and am on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies (NCCSS). I served in the Arizona Army National Guard as an Aviation Operations Specialists during OIF X and was stationed throughout southern Iraq during my 2009-2010 deployment. My dissertation entitled "Exploring the Phenomenon of Secondary Teachers Integrating the LMS Canvas in a Blended-Learning Course" examined current research concerning how an LMS, specifically Canvas has shaped the teacher-learner dynamics.
