Providing personalized professional development (PD) for teachers’ individual needs is a challenge for all schools and districts. This session will describe how our school accomplishes this without relying on expensive programs or consultants. Our PD plan provides teachers with multiple targeted learning pathways aligned with their individual professional learning goal and multiple options in the content and type of individual PD sessions offered within each pathway. Core components of our PD plan include collaboration among staff, opportunities for teachers to observe each other, coaching, and reflection. This session will also explain how, with the support of a 2022-23 Digital Learning Initiative Grant, our PD plan has expanded to include peer modeling, observation, and coaching to further support teachers in meeting their professional learning goals. Our PD plan is grounded research-based best practices regarding professional learning, which will be shared with participants. Participants will also have the opportunity to reflect on their own school’s/district’s PD plan in light of best practices and discuss with others possibilities for enhancing their current PD plan.
