The session will involve a walk-through of the online module professional development experience and process used here in Onslow County School. Participants will get a chance to see the interworking's of how our Human Resource Department and Digital Learning and Teaching Department work together to develop, format, deliver, and document online professional learning through our LMS and platform tools of Microsoft Teams, Office 365, and Power Automate. The pandemic has left lasting impressions and digital techniques that can improve and make professional development more accessible for educators. Through LMS platforms, we have been able to create meaningful and purposeful online professional development that is able to reach all our educators in a flexible format that they are able to complete PD sessions on their own time. The online modules are relevant and engaging while being in a non-traditional method. The modules tie in directly to our county's specific vision and Instructional Framework that all educators then have access to participate in. They are developed with our specific teachers and learners in mind, which can be more targeted from online offerings from venders and other organizations. We will show examples of how these modules are created, formatted, and run through our LMS (Microsoft Teams) platform giving participants the full picture of creation and completion for both the instructor side and the participant view. Some example modules that we offer fully digital include Amplify Student Voice, Digitizing AVID, Digitizing Instructional Framework Concepts, Digitizing Your PLC, Managing a Digital Learning Environment, and Minecraft Education Edition. Participates in the modules create, communicate, collaborate, and think critically about topics, instructional strategies, content, and planning. All skill sets we ask our students to become proficient in.
We also have a system in place for signing up, documenting, and alerting presenters and participants through Power Automate. We will take a deep dive look at how these systems have been developed, what they do, and how automated tasks have saved time and resources. Participants will get to see and experience the automated process of a participant signing up for a PD session, Human Resources approving or denying requests, and notifying participants and session presenters all with the click of a button.
