Feedback form is now closed.
In education today, there are a lot of online course options for students. These courses tend to have one set of presentations, one set of assignments, and one set of assessments for all students to complete. Our UCVirtual development team has embraced Canvas Mastery Paths and created an ACT/SAT Preparatory course that has utilized mastery paths to build differentiation right into the course to address individual student needs.
In this session, participants will get the opportunity to participate in fun, engaging activities that will enhance their understanding of the need to differentiate online for students. They will experience first hand the planning, creation, and revisions made in creating a course that utilizes Mastery Paths and leave with tools that will help them in their future utilization of Mastery Paths.
1st- Introduction 2nd- Sequencing Activity - Fun small group activity to help participants conceptualize the need for differentiated learning. 3rd- Share from the Teacher Point of View - UCVirtual teacher will share how Mastery Paths has enhanced her approach to instruction.
4th - Pre-Diagnostics Activity - Lighthearted pre-diagnostic set in a UCVirtual hosted Canvas course. This will allow participants to experience the Mastery Paths feature first hand. 5th - How to Develop - Demonstrate and share best practices for creating Mastery Paths in Canvas 6th- Take-Aways - Mastery Path Planning Documents, Best Practices Tip Sheet 7th- Questions/Collaboration/Work Time
