Yes They Can: Linking the WIDA Can Do Descriptors and Technology-Based Activities to Support Multilingual Learners (Part 1: Reading and Writing)

Participants will need their devices: laptop, Chromebook, tablet, etc.

Facilitators will teach participants how to use the WIDA Can Do Descriptors to highlight what language learners "can do" at various stages of language development.

Participants will practice "mapping" multilingual learners based on their level of language development on the WIDA Can-Do Descriptors using a fillable (Google doc).

Facilitators will conduct a WIDA Crosswalk using the Can Do Descriptor levels to design learning experiences that integrate technology in a meaningful way.

Participants will explore a variety of the Can Do technology-based activities that fits into their current daily teaching practices. Practice will focus on two of the four language domains: Reading and Writing.
