Honey, I Shrunk the Students - Making Cell Studies Larger than Life

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
We will be sharing the project we developed on plant and animal cells using a variety of Digital Resources that make the content tangible for the students. Students are asked to determine what would happen if one of the parts of a cell were missing. This leads them to an investigation of the parts of a cell and how the body needs them, and then they are led to a discussion of what happens to the body without that vital process. Along with this study, students are exploring ways they can help others keep healthy and strong. Making the cell study "Larger Than Life" involves investigating this content through innovation and creativity. Students are using VR Technology, 3D Printing, and Interactive Electronic Devices & Scratch Programming to bring the content to life and demonstrate what they have learned.

We Will immerse our participants in the process that we used for this project. They will be able to explore the artifacts and products created by the students and will also be able to explore the tools and equipment used by the students during the project. Participants will also have an opportunity to connect and collaborate with each other so we can create a network that will allow them to continue conversations about the ways they are, and will use digital tools with science.
