Counting on Coding: Using Robots in the Math Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Let’s add robots, subtract boredom, and multiply engagement while we divide and conquer mathematical standards. Come learn how to integrate coding into math class! We will explore how to build a strong foundation using unplugged coding lessons and then how to transition to using robots. We will showcase lessons using Bee Bot, Cubetto, Sphero, and Finch.

We will also model how to design lessons that incorporate the new NC Computer Science Standards as well as the NC Standard Course of Study and the Digital Learning Competencies. Participants can expect to actively participate in coding activities around the room using all four robots, and we will look at how you can teach the same lesson with multiple robots so that participants can use these activities no matter what type of robot is in their collection.

Come see how robots can impact your math classroom!
