I will be bringing some of the robots I use in the classroom with students. (Code and Go Mouse, Ozobot, Dash/Dot, mBot, Sphero BOLT.) Along with the robots, I will be bringing lessons and ideas for using them in the classroom with students in grades PK-5.
As the session begins, we will discuss the advantages of each robot, including input from participants that have used any of these bots in the past.
As the session continues, I will give 2-3 examples of my favorite activities for using each robot, which are tried and true in the classroom, to share with participants. Again, the participants will have a chance to ask questions, or give examples of how they have used each robot as well.
As time allows before the end of the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to try any of the robots they have not used before, or to try samples of the lessons I have shared. I will bring a limited number of materials with me to share with participants.
I have over 20 years experience as a technology coach/facilitator. I have presented a few times at NCTIES and at other conferences. I have learned that as much hands on practice as I can give, with real examples that we have used in classrooms is the most helpful for participants to try once they gat back to their schools.
