Bring ELA to Life using Augmented Reality and Greenscreens

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Tired of forcing students to write? Using innovative technology, students create presentations using large and small greenscreens to enhance themselves or puppets to tell their stories. Intensify their presentations with Augmented Reality to create a magical ‘Harry Potter’ experience to bring their projects to life.

Motivating students to write is an uphill battle for many teachers. With the inclusion of technology, teachers will be able to lure students to commit to the writing process, in order to showcase their work using innovative technology.

During our session, participants convert common literacy assignments into technology enhanced projects. We will share examples of different common literacy assignments that were transformed using Flip, Greenscreen and Augmented Reality.

Not sure how to get started? We will provide a roadmap detailing how performance tasks and common literacy assignments can be brought to life easily using performance based technology.

Participants will share in a round table discussion of current literacy tasks in their classrooms, and together we will brainstorm creative alternatives moving from pencil and paper tasks into innovative projects.

Participants will then have the opportunity to take their ideas and try firsthand how to modify their assignments with the technology and tools provided. The goal is for all participants to leave ready to flip their mundane assignments into unique learning experiences.
