Using Digital Literacies to Create Critical Consumers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Participants will explore different means of digital literacy as a way to help students become critical consumers and engaged creators of digital literacy. In the session, participants will identify digital literacies used by students. After we explore the common literacies encountered by our students, we will discuss the merit of incorporating these into our classrooms and our goals. As a sample activity, we will create a meme to show how quickly digital literacies can be used to review content. Participants will also complete a quick jigsaw activity where they can look at other platforms for using digital literacy in the classroom (i.e, eduBlog).
