This session is designed to show how media coordinators and content area teachers can work together to co-plan and teach lessons where students SHOW their learning in a makerspace. The session will begin with a show-and-tell of collaborative projects in our school’s makerspace. Then attendees will be assigned a random standard from their NCSCOS. They will use this standard and given resources to develop an item or idea of how students can show their understanding of that standard. All ideas will be collected in a digital format, and shared out. Resource examples include: found products, 3D printing, Sphero coding, sewing, Lego, K’nex, and circuitry to provide attendees with ideas galore.
