Going beyond compliance PD: developing asynchronous, mastery-based learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
Districts are increasingly burdened with compliance training such as those required by E-Rate and new cybersecurity insurance policies, but are also stretched thin by other district needs and requirements. Creating asynchronous, mastery based training with immediate feedback and support structures allows districts to use their limited resources effectively while also building learner confidence and building capacity amongst their staff. The session aims to discuss ways that Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools has used these practices to maximize effective professional development for staff, teachers, and students.

Participants will be able to ask questions and identify what they would require to establish effective compliance PD.
Participants will receive access to code repositories and begin experimenting with them immediately.
Participants will be able to use course templates and examples to begin designing their own mastery-based learning experiences.
